Remodeling and Upgrades in Northwest Arkansas

Bathroom and kitchen updates, flooring, and outdoor living projects, handled as part of the broader handyman and home-improvement service mix at Mr. Fixit of NWA.

Honest positioning

Where remodeling fits in what we do

Mr. Fixit of NWA is a home maintenance and handyman company first. Remodeling and upgrade projects sit inside that service mix as a secondary line of work, taken on when a project fits the same hands-on model as everything else we do.

That framing is worth being clear about, because it tells you what to expect. You get update and refresh-level projects from the same fully insured people who handle repairs and upkeep, backed by owner Matt Houle's 15+ years across construction and home improvement work. You do not get a general contracting operation, and we never present ourselves as one. Larger structural or design-build projects get referred out honestly.

There is a practical reason homeowners bring these projects to a handyman-model company. Most updates are not architecture. They are careful, hands-on work: setting flooring straight, hanging cabinet doors so they close cleanly, running trim that meets tight in the corners. That is repair-and-carpentry skill applied to an improvement, and it is the kind of work this company was built around.

Bathroom and kitchen updates

Updates here mean improving the room you have. New fixtures and hardware, butcher-block countertops, cabinet repair, fresh caulk and trim, and similar refresh work. Fixture-level bathroom items overlap with our bathroom and plumbing fixture service.

Flooring

We repair damaged flooring sections and install new flooring, whether the job is one worn room or a floor that has waited years for attention.

Porches, pergolas, and outdoor structures

Screened-in porches, sunrooms, gazebos, pergolas, and pavilions are the largest projects we take on, and each one is scoped in detail before work begins.

Tongue-and-groove ceilings and soffits

Wood ceiling and soffit details bring warmth to porches and interior rooms, and the installation draws directly on our finish carpentry work.

The approach

How these projects run

Every project starts with a conversation about scope. We talk through what you want, look at the space when that helps, and agree on the plan up front. There is no sales layer between you and the person doing the work.

The same crew that handles repairs and maintenance handles these projects, which keeps the workmanship consistent and the communication simple. And when a project turns out to be bigger than our model, whether that means structural changes, a whole-home remodel, or design-build work, we say so and point you toward the kind of contractor that job actually needs.

Upgrades also pair naturally with the rest of the list. If a bathroom is getting refreshed, that visit can pick up the loose towel bar and the door down the hall that will not latch. Many homeowners fold an upgrade into the same conversation as their repairs, and the scoping call is where all of that gets sorted out.

Scope, stated plainly. Remodeling here is a secondary service within the handyman and home-improvement model. We are not a general contractor and do not take on whole-home remodels, structural work, or design-build projects.

Good to know

Remodeling and upgrade questions

No, and we would rather tell you that up front. Our kitchen work stays at the update level: cabinet repair, hardware, butcher-block countertops, and similar improvements. A full gut remodel with layout changes belongs with a general contractor, and we will point you in that direction when a project calls for it.

Yes. Screened-in porches, pergolas, gazebos, and pavilions are among the larger projects in our service mix. Each one gets scoped and discussed in detail before any work starts.

Yes. Flooring repair and flooring installation are both part of our upgrade work, whether that means fixing a damaged section or installing new flooring in a room.

Call (479) 422-1865 or email [email protected] with a description of the project and where you are located. We will talk through the scope, look at the space when that is needed, and agree on a plan before any work begins.
