Repairing a floor and installing a floor
Most flooring calls fall into one of two groups. The first is a floor that is mostly fine with a problem in it: a water-damaged section by a dishwasher or a tub, boards or planks that have lifted, a worn traffic path, or damage in one room of an otherwise good floor.
Repairing the damaged area is usually the better answer than replacing everything.
The second is a room ready for a new floor. That is a full sequence: clearing and preparing the room, dealing with what is underneath, laying the new floor, and finishing the edges so it looks like it belongs there.
Which one you need is worth an honest conversation rather than an assumption. Sometimes a repair buys years. Sometimes the repair costs enough that replacing the room makes better sense, and we will say so.

What is under the floor matters as much as the floor
A new floor laid over a bad subfloor is a short-lived floor. Soft spots, water damage, squeaks and out-of-level areas telegraph straight through, and they are far cheaper to fix while the room is open than after the new floor is down.
Carpentry is a core service here, so repairing damaged framing, blocking and subfloor is normal work rather than a subcontract. That is also why flooring sits naturally alongside our carpentry services: measuring a room that is neither square nor level, and making the finished work look like it was always meant to be there, is the same skill.
If a floor problem is a symptom of something else, a leak that has not been fixed, for example, that gets flagged before new material goes down.
Tile, grout and the wet rooms
Bathrooms, entries and laundry rooms take the most abuse from water, and they are where floor problems tend to start. Tile work is part of the mix, including installing and replacing tile, tile drilling, and grout and mortar repair.
Failed caulk and grout around a tub, shower or sink is one of the quietest ways water reaches subfloor and framing. Re-sealing those lines is small, inexpensive work compared with what it prevents, and it is handled alongside our bathroom and plumbing fixture services when a room is being refreshed.

Where flooring connects to the rest of the list
Floors rarely move on their own. Baseboard comes off and goes back on, doors sometimes need trimming to clear a new floor height, thresholds change, and a room that is already emptied is the easiest room it will ever be to paint.

Do you install flooring?
Yes. Flooring repair and flooring installation are both part of our work, whether that means fixing a damaged section or installing new flooring in a room.
Can you repair one damaged area instead of replacing the whole floor?
Often, yes. A water-damaged section, lifted boards or a worn area can frequently be repaired rather than replaced. We will look at it and give you a straight answer on whether repairing or replacing the room makes better sense.
What if the subfloor is soft or squeaking?
That gets addressed before any new flooring goes down. Repairing damaged framing, blocking and subfloor is part of our carpentry scope, and fixing it while the room is open is far cheaper than after.
Do you handle the baseboard and thresholds too?
Yes. Baseboard, shoe and quarter round, thresholds and transitions between rooms are part of finishing a floor properly, and trim carpentry is already core work here.
Do you do tile floors?
Tile work, including installation and replacement, tile drilling, and grout and mortar repair, is part of the service mix. Failed grout and caulk in bathrooms and laundry rooms is common repair work.
